Traders vs. Investors vs. PM Enthusiasts
 

I'm just curious.

We have a wide array of people in this forum with a common interest in PM.

Personally, I have been kicking around the trading business for over 10 years and have traded different approaches (mostly part time) with varying results. Over the past couple of years I find the income from trading to rival the income from my usual line of work (engineering) , even though I spend far fewer hours per week trading.

That being the case, I have decided to leave my my job as of the 27th of APR and trade full time.

It's been coming on for some time now. I look forward to leaving the corporate BS..

I will trade intra-day on the emini S&P, and continue some other ventures.

So what do some of you do for a living? HOw many actually consider themselves traders?

Traders? Investers? Enthusiasts? Why not be honest and call it for what it is: speculation.

I sell real estate to whomever needs my services. Their decision - I don't push them.

I have to say that the free time this career affords me has given me the time/ability to do research on many topics such as the Federal Reserve, fiat money vs Gold, Silver, etc.

No, I'm not a rich realtor, I get by. I am rich on knowledge however.

And you are so correct in my opinion, that the reason for doing what we do for chits to carry us through this life on the planet is so that we can have time to enjoy what's important.

I would say QWAK, but that would be insulting to our friend the DUCK.

Instead, I will simply once again acknowledge your ramblings, as you are free to have them.

The stockmarket is simply a tool. Like any tool, it can be used for good or evil. I have no emotional investment in "IT". At least no more than I would have in a shovel.

I work for an ISP as an Engineer, but I have to small time gigs I run on the side to generate a few extra dollars in cash, which I have been using to buy Silver and my coins...

I've been using my Primary income to buy a house,
Gut and re-model it and start paying down all credit cards...
